Kleber Xavier Sampaio de Souza

Holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (1986), a master's degree in Electrical Engineering in the area of Production Planning from the State University of Campinas (1989), and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in the area of Intelligent Network Management from the State University of Campinas (1996). Holds a "sandwich" Ph.D. at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, and post-doctoral studies in Knowledge Management at the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Sydney, Australia. He is currently a Senior Researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa). He conducts research in Computer Science, with an emphasis on machine learning, information retrieval, knowledge representation, ontologies, Semantic Web, Formal Concept Analysis (FCA), and information systems. He served as Deputy Head of Research and Development from 1999 to 2003 and from 2005 to 2009, and as General Head of Embrapa Digital Agriculture from 2009 to 2015. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
