Visting Fellow at the Sociology Department, Goldsmiths, University of London; post doctoral research supervised by Mike Featherstone and sponsored by FAPESP. Majored in Psychology at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1980), MA in Comunication and Culture - Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1998) and PhD in Comunication and Culture - Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2003). She is currently a full professor at the Postgraduate Studies Program in Communication and Consumption Practices at ESPM (Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing), São Paulo, where she coordinates Conex.lab (CNPq/ESPM Research Group in Subjectivity, Communication and Consumption), as well as the Workin Group on Communication, Consumption and Subjectivities at COMUNICON, annual international conference on Communication and Consumption. Among the academic positions and forums, she is the executive publisher of the academic journal Comunicação, Mídia e Consumo, Member of the Board of COMPÓS (2017-2019) and ASSIBERCOM (Ibero-American Association of Communications - 2015-2019) and Vice-President of Rede Obitel-Brasil (Ibero-American Observatory of Television Fiction - Brazil) and associate member of the Brazilian Society of Interdisciplinary Studies in Communications (Intercom). Main areas of expertise: communication, consumption practices, the production of subjectivities, new modes of sociability, cyberulture, ageing, entertainment, the pedagogical role of promotional cultures and industries, combating ageism.
