Carlos Alberto Pastore

I was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1949, and graduated in Medicine at Faculdade de Medicina do ABC (1974), and got my Ph.D. in Cardiology at the University of São Paulo (1992). I specialized in Cardiology in 1977, and was recognized as a Cardiology Specialist in 1995 by the Brazilian Medical Society and Brazilian Society of Cardiology. I am currently a peer reviewer for the medicine journals Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, Journal of Electrocardiology, Annals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, International Journal of Cardiovascular Sciences, Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine, JACC Journal of the American College of Cardiology and JACC Case Reports. I am President of the Study Group on Electrocardiography of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology, former President for the 2013-2015 term of the International Society of Electrocardiology - ISE and a member of its Council and Committee, and also a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). I am associate professor of Cardiology at the University of São Paulo and was a professor of Human Physiology at the Psychology Institute of Universidade Paulista - UNIP. Presently I am a Vice-President of the Zerbini Foundation, Medical Director of Telemedicine and the Director of the Clinical Unit of Rest Electrocardiography at Instituto do Coração (InCor) of the University of São Paulo Medical School Hospital, where I lead a research team on Electrocardiography and Vectorcardiography - T-wave microalternans, Body Surface Potential Mapping, ECG in Electrical Heart Diseases. For the past 20 years I have coordinated the Annual Course on Specialization in Electrocardiography for the Heart Institute (InCor). At SBC Brazilian Society of Cardiology I coordinated, in 2014, the Master Course on Electrocardiology in association with the Spanish Society of Cardiology; presently I coordinate the Course ?Topics on ECG for the Cardiologist? of the University of the Heart-SBC. Since 1992 I broadcast daily "Health Tips" insertions for the general public at the Eldorado AM broadcasting system. From 1990 on I have proffered several lectures and speeches on Cardiology, Quality of Life, Prevention and Cardiovascular Health, Emotions and Stress.
