Holds a Bachelor's degree in Biochemical Pharmacy from the Federal University of Alfenas (2001), a Master's degree in Toxicology and Toxicological Analyses from the University of São Paulo (2004), and a Ph.D. in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry) from the Institute of Chemistry of the University of São Paulo (2008). Completed postdoctoral training at the School of Medical Sciences of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2010 and at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA-NIH, Baltimore, MD, USA) from 2013 to 2014. Earned the academic title of Livre-Docente (tenured Associate Professor) at UNICAMP in 2022.Worked as a Forensic Expert at the Superintendency of the São Paulo State Forensic Science Police from 2002 to 2016, and served as President of the Brazilian Society of Toxicology (SBTox) during the 20122013 term.Currently serves as an Associate Professor (MS-5.1) at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where he also holds the position of Faculty Advisor to the Office of the General Coordination of the University (CGU) and Executive Coordinator of the Campinas Poison Control Center (CIATox-Campinas). From May 2022 to May 2025, he served as Faculty Advisor to the Office of the Pro-Rectory for Extension, Sports, and Culture (ProEEC). He is the faculty advisor of the Analytical Toxicology Laboratory, the @Toxicologia-Unicamp research group, and the UNICAMP Academic Toxicology League (LACTOX).Has extensive experience in the fields of Toxicology and Instrumental Analytical Chemistry, with emphasis on toxicological analyses, focusing primarily on: clinical and forensic toxicology, analysis of drugs of abuse, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides, chromatographic techniques in gas and liquid phases (gas chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography), capillary electrophoresis, and mass spectrometry applied to clinical and forensic investigations. His work is particularly distinguished by his involvement in the identification, toxicological evaluation, and metabolic studies of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), using integrated in vitro and in vivo models for clinical, forensic, and regulatory applications.In 2021, he received the TIAFT Achievement Award, granted by The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists, in recognition of his contributions to the field of forensic toxicology.
