Graduate at Medicine from Universidade Federal da Bahia (1989), master's at Gastroenterology from Universidade de São Paulo (1997) and ph.d. at Gastroenterology from Universidade de São Paulo (2001). HIs current position is Associate Professor fo Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the University of Sao Paulo School of Medicine. He has experience in Medicine/ Hepatology, with research activities in the field of cirrhosis and its complications, coagulation disorders, acute kidney injury and ACLF syndrome. Since 2017 he is the project manager of the consortium ACLARA, sponsored by the EF-CLIF (European Foundation for the Study of Chronic Liver Failure).
