Milan Puh

Graduated in History from the University of São Paulo (2019). Post-doctorate from the State University of Midwest Paraná (2018). PhD in Education from the Faculty of Education of the University of São Paulo (2017), supervised by Prof.dr Valdir Heitor Barzotto. Master in Philology and Portuguese Language from the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo (2012), with the same advisor. Graduated in Anthropology and Portuguese Language and Literature - University of Zagreb (2008). Currently professor at the Institute of Letters at the Federal University of Bahia, in the area of Portuguese as a Second/Foreign Language. Since 2025 he has been a permanent researcher at the Postgraduate Program in Language and Culture at UFBA and since 2022 he has been a collaborating researcher at the Postgraduate Program in Education at USP. Since 2024, academic coordinator of the Proficiency Program in Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PROEMPLE) and the Proficiency Program in Japanese as a Foreign Language (PROEMJA) for Students and Staff of UFBA. Between 2019 and 2023 worked as a professor at the Faculty of Education of the University of São Paulo, working in the disciplines of Methodology for Teaching German, Latin, Greek and Oriental Languages. Between 2021 and 2023 he was coordinator of the research project "State of the Art of Oriental Language Teaching: official documents, teaching materials and academic production". Coordinator of the research project "History of Croatia and Croatian immigrants in Brazil" between 2015 and 2019, editing and publishing four publications. Works with themes related to History, Languages, Cultures and Education in different Latin American, African and European contexts, with special focus on immigrant communities both in Brazil and abroad. Awarded in 2023 with the Order of Rio Branco, by the President of the Republic and with the nomination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, for services in promoting Brazil in the world and, especially, in Croatia.
