Associate professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Campinas. He was a visiting researcher at the University of Michigan (2024) with a Fulbright scholarship, at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (2010), and at the Politecnico di Milano (2010). He held postdoctoral positions at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (2007) and at the University of Campinas (2006, 2005). He earned his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, San Diego (2003). He received his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Campinas (1997), and his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraíba (1994). He acts as a reviewer for various conferences and scientific journals and was a member of the editorial board of the American Control Conference and the ASME Dynamic Systems and Control Conferences in various editions. His primary interests are in the area of dynamic systems control, active vibration control, nonlinear control, robust control, stability analysis, identification, and optimization.
