Ricardo Matheus Pires, biologist (Bachelor's and Teaching degree) from São Paulo State University (UNESP), Rio Claro campus, São Paulo, Brazil. Masters and Ph.D. graduate from the Graduate Program in Plant Biodiversity and Environment, specializing in Nonvascular Plants and Fungi at the Institute of Botany (currently the Institute of Environmental Research - IPA/SP). I hold a postgraduate specialization in Education and Technologies: Teaching in Distance Education from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). My academic research encompasses taxonomy and systematics of Basidiomycota fungi, fungal ecology, and biodiversity. Concurrently, I have developed educational studies resulting in publications related to my undergraduate thesis and postgraduate specialization. I served as a substitute professor for five years at several higher education institutions, including UNESP-Litoral Paulista, UNIOESTE-Cascavel, UTFPR-Dois Vizinhos, and UNESP-Botucatu. Currently, I am a permanent teacher in Basic Education, teaching Science for 9th-grade Elementary students and Biology for High School students in São Paulo's state education.
