Graduated in Physical Education (1993) and Master in Motricity Sciences (1998) from Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP - Rio Claro. PhD in Physiological Sciences from the University of São Paulo - USP (2004). Post Doc at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UM-MSM) (2016) under the supervision of Dr. John Eugene Lewis in health promotion in clinical research. She carries out research and teaching activities at the Catholic University of Brasília (UCB) where he teaches the subjects "Exercise Biochemistry", "Exercise Physiology", "Morphofunctional Integration of the Human Body", "Human Physiology", "Supervised Internship" in the Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education; and carries out guidance and research activities to promote child health in the Master's and Doctorate Program in Physical Education, where he teaches the subjects "Human Growth and Development", "Biochemistry of Exercise", and "Topics Related to Physical Activity, Health, Obesity and Nutrition". Coordinator of the Laboratory for Studies in Psychomotricity and Transdisciplinary Child Stimulation (Le Petit), and the Study Group on the Benefits of Physical Exercise for Child Health (GEBEXFISI) at UCB. Carmen also develops educational tools and writes books aimed at helping children, teenagers and parents change their habits for better family health. She works in the following lines of research with children: assessment of health and physical fitness; development of educational and technological strategies (Website and Applications) to promote health and prevent diseases in childhood; effect of summer camp and multidisciplinary health education program on cognitive functions and health parameters in overweight children; effect of active play and learning through play on health, brain functions and school performance in children; effect of infant stimulation, breastfeeding and the "Baby Led Weaning" (BLW) and "Baby Led Introduction to Solids" (BLISS) methods of introducing food to babies on motor and cognitive development. Carmen coordinates the multidisciplinary community outreach project "Amada Mami" for an active and healthy pregnancy; and the multidisciplinary extension project "Le Petit" of motor and cognitive stimulation and healthy food introduction for babies and children for healthier childhoods and families. Coordinates a multidisciplinary group (Physical Education, Nutrition, Psychology, Pedagogy and Medicine) in the development of projects to promote health in the family and at school. Master athlete and coach of young people who represent DF and Brazil in athletics. She participated as a Consultant for the United Nations (UN) in the " Vamos Nessa " Program, acting as a translator, trainer of multipliers and implementer of the program in Brasília and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the aim of developing the life skills of children and young people who lived in areas at risk of drug abuse and violence, through educational games and sport. She participated in the NaMoral Project, together with the creator, Judge Luciana Asper, and other collaborators, which aims to develop ethics, integrity and citizenship in children and young people in schools, through games, sports and educational activities with active methodologies and gamified strategies. On missions to serve needy communities throughout Brazil, together with the Nova Geração ministerial school (ENG), she brings the love of Jesus into practice, teachings about health care and practical physical and playful activities for the missionaries and the community served.
