Undergraduated in Biomedical Sciences (1988), Master's degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the Federal University of São Paulo (1992), PhD in Sciences with emphasis in Microbiology and Immunology from the Federal University of São Paulo (1998) and Post-doctorate in Immunology of fungal infectioni by Yeshiva University of Albert Einstein College of Medicine (2002). Degree in Teaching obtained in 2008 by the University of São Paulo. He is currently a Full Professor at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo and associate resercher of the Medical Mycology Laboratory of the Tropical Medicine Institute / Department of Dermatology FMUSP. Has experience in Microbiology and Immunology, focusing on Medical Mycology, Host Pathogen Relationship; acting mainly in the study of systemic and emerging mycoses. Among the current administrative activities, he is Deputy Coordinator of Professional Masters and Doctorate Programs - Biological Sciences III (CAPES) since 09/2018 and Vice-President of the Graduate Commission of the ICB / USP (07/2019 to 07/2021). He served as coordinator of the Microbiology Graduate Program of the Department of Microbiology / USP (10/2013 to 09/2018), Chairman of the Graduate Commission of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of USP (07/2017 to 07/2019 ) and president of Brazilian Society for Microbiology (01/2016 to 12/2019).
