Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). Campus de Rio Claro. Instituto de Biociências (IB)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

I am graduated (2002) in Biological Sciences at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). I have Master's degree in Animal Biology at the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2005) and PhD in Biological Sciences (Zoology) at the same institution. I have experience in fauna surveys, natural history and community ecology, acting mainly on the following subjects: biology, spatial and temporal distribution of anuran amphibians (tadpoles and adults) and reptiles (Squamata). I was professor at the Universidade Federal do Pampa (Unipampa Campus São Gabriel - from 2010 until 2024), where I coordinated the graduate Biological Sciences (Bachelor) for three and a half years. Currently, I am professor (Associated IV) and Head of Department of Ecology and Evolution at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), where I coordinate the Laboratory of Herpetology. I collaborate with ICMBIO in National Action Plans (PAN) for the conservation of threatened amphibians and reptiles in southern Brazil, as well as assisting in the definition of the conservation state of amphibians at national and regional levels. I work as ad-hoc reviewer in scientific journals and advise national and international research foundations. I am currently Master, Doctoral, and post-doctoral advisor in the Postgraduate Program in Animal Biodiversity (UFSM). I have a child of preschool age and I use oil and watercolor painting to represent biodiversity and the last remnants of native landscapes during leisure time. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
