Francisco J. Fraga received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (EPUSP), Brazil, in 1987 and 1991, respectively. He obtained the title of Doctor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA, 1998). From 2000-2004 he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Instituto Nacional de Telecomunicações (INATEL). In 2005 he was Senior Researcher at the Integrated Systems Laboratory at the University of São Paulo, working in the AAC Audio Encoder / Decoder in the Brazilian Digital TV System (SBTVD) project. Since 2006 he has been with Federal University of ABC (UFABC), Brazil, currently as Full Professor. From 2012 to 2013 he was Visiting Scholar at the University of Quebec (Montreal, Canada) and from 2019 to 2020 he was Visiting Researcher at the Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). His research interests include anything related to biosignal processing/classification, and his current line of research is primarily focused on EEG processing and classification for brain disorders and the brain-computer interface.
