Birthplace: Brazil

Bachelor and Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP). PhD and Master's degree in Botany from the Biosciences Institute of the University of São Paulo (IB-USP). Completed two postdoctoral fellowships in Botany at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC). During his research career, he worked on the anatomical characterization of trees, shrubs and lianas (Scientific Initiation - IC); Community dynamics and phylogenetic structure of lianas in the Amazon forest and the relationship between liana stem anatomy and biomechanical and hydraulic attributes in different tropical forests (Master's and Doctorate). His postdoctoral work focused on the evolution of morpho-functional traits in plants and hydraulic strategies to cope with drought. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Regional University of Cariri (URCA), Ceará, teaching subjects in botany, ecology, among others. He participates in the Postgraduate Program in Diversity and Natural Resources (PPGDR) at URCA. He has developed research work on plant anatomy, biomechanics and hydraulics of plants, as well as the relationship of morpho-functional attributes with the distribution and dynamics of plant communities in different environmental conditions.
