Degree in Geography from the Faculty of Teacher Education at the State University of Rio de Janeiro FFP/UERJ São Gonçalo (2011). Masters (2014) and Ph.D. (2018) in Geography from the Graduate Program in Geography at FCT/UNESP Presidente Prudente. Postdoctoral research conducted at the Department of Geography, Indiana University Bloomington (USA), with funding from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) (20212022). Currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at Indiana University Bloomington. Member of the Brazilian Geographers Association Niterói Chapter (2010present), the Brazilian Association of Climatology (2012present), serving as an elected member of the Fiscal Council (2023present), the American Association of GeographersAAG (2022present), within the Climate Specialty Group, and the International Association of Biometeorology (2024present). Engaged in teaching, research, and outreach with GEOCLIMA Research Group on Geography of Climate (IGEO/UFRJ), and as an associate researcher with COLAPSO Nature and Society (IGEO/UFBA). Research interests include geographic climatology, climate geography, and critical physical geography, with a current focus on extreme weather events, urban climatology, heatwaves, urban heat islands, urban microclimates, exposure, vulnerability, climate justice, and climate classification.
