The layered silicate Na-RUB-18 presents crystal structure in two dimensions (2 D) and crystals with plate-like morphology. Each lamella consists in cages linked through five-membered rings of silicon tetrahedra and its inner surfaces are covered by silanol groups (Si-OH) and silanolate species (SiO-), which generate negative charges.
