Graduated in Nursing from the Federal University of Acre (2011) and a Direct doctorate in Sciences from the Postgraduate Program in Biology of the Host-Pathogen Relationship, at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo (ICB-USP), completed in 2018. During her doctorate, she completed research internships at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in Atlanta, USA (2015), and at the London School of Hygiene Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), in London, UK (2016-2017), where she gained experience in advanced techniques of molecular biology and genetics, respectively. In 2024, she completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at ICB-USP, focusing on diagnosis (identification of biomarkers for placental malaria) and treatment (study of resistance to antimalarial drugs). During this period, she completed another one-year research internship at the London School of Hygiene Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), expanding her expertise in bioinformatics, Plasmodium genomics, and modern genetic sequencing techniques, such as MinION/Nanopore. In 2024, she served as a Substitute Professor in the Department of Parasitology at ICB-USP, teaching undergraduate courses. During her scientific career she obtained important recognitions, including 1st Place in the Young Researcher Award (2014) granted by the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine (SBMT), Honorable Mention of the 2023 USP Post-Doc Award (Health Sciences) and the Ruth Nussenzweig Medal as the Young Brazilian Researcher Award for Outstanding Malaria (2024). She has extensive experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Parasitology, with an emphasis on gestational malaria, working on the following topics: malaria, Plasmodium genomics, maternal and child health, and information systems.
