Rafael Dias is an Associate Professor at the School of Applied Sciences (FCA) of the University of Campinas (Unicamp). He currently serves as Unicamp's Director of International Affairs. He has been a member of the board of Unicamp's Confucius Institute since 2018 and the university's Advisory Delegate to the Montevideo Group University Association (AUGM) since 2021. He is a member of the Graduate Program in Humanities and Applied Social Sciences and of the Graduate Program in Science and Technology Policy, both at Unicamp. He is also an adjunct member of the Graduate Program in Science and Technology Studies at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, York University, Canada. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex, UK (2016), with support from CAPES. He holds a Ph.D. in Scientific and Technological Policy from Unicamp (2009), including a research period at the Georgia Institute of Technology (2009), and a Master's degree in Science and Technology Policy from Unicamp (2005). He graduated in Economics from Facamp (Faculdades de Campinas, 2003). His expertise lies in the field of Science and Technology Studies, with a focus on the following topics: science, technology, and innovation policy analysis; social innovation; and science diplomacy.
