Tássio Brito de Oliveira

Graduated in Biological Sciences - with emphasis in Ecology from the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC, 2010), Master's Degree in Biology and Biotechnology of Microorganisms from the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC, 2012), developing his research in partnership with the Centro de Estudos of Social Insects at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP, Rio Claro, SP), and a PhD in Applied Microbiology at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP, 2016) with a sandwich period at the EX-F Culture Collection of Extremophilic Fungi, at the University of Ljubljana (UL) , in Slovenia. He held a post-doctorate at the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto (FFCLRP), at the University of São Paulo (USP). He is currently Professor at the Department of Systematics and Ecology at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). In research he works in the area of Ecology and Molecular Systematics of Microorganisms (Ecology and microbial diversity applying techniques dependent and independent of cultivation and molecular and phylogenetic taxonomy) and in the bioprospecting of microorganisms with potential application in biotechnological processes.
