Holds a degree in Physical Education from OSEC (1987), and Physiotherapy from the Federal University of São Carlos (1993); Master's degree in Sciences (Human Physiology), University of São Paulo (1996); and PhD in Sciences (Human Physiology), from the University of São Paulo (2000). She completed the entire experimental stage of her doctorate at the University of California, Los Angeles, between 1997-2000). Later, she completed her Post-doctorate at the Department of Cellular Biology, ICB, USP, between 2000-2001. She is currently a PhD professor at the Department of Anatomy, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo. She has experience in the study of Bone Physiology, with emphasis on the investigation of the effects of thyroid hormone on bone development and metabolism. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
