Paula Teixeira Fernandes

Psychologist graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. Holds a Masters, Ph.D., and Postdoctoral degree in Neurosciences from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), with an international partnership with the University of South Carolina. Additionally, completed a Postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Porto, Portugal, in the field of aging, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medical Sciences at UNICAMP (FCM-UNICAMP). Currently serves as a Livre-Docente Professor at the Department of Sport Sciences of the School of Physical Education at UNICAMP (FEF-UNICAMP), working in the areas of Sport Psychology and Neurosciences, with teaching and research activities at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Held the position of Undergraduate Program Coordinator at FEF-UNICAMP for six years and, since 2022, has been Head of the Department of Sport Sciences at the same institution. Coordinates GEPEN - Study Group in Sport Psychology and Neurosciences - at FEF-UNICAMP, promoting integration among Psychology, Physical Education, Neurosciences, and Sport, with a focus on strengthening interdisciplinarity. Also serves as a Professor and Permanent Member of the Graduate Program Committee in Gerontology at FCM-UNICAMP. Additionally, coordinates the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Child and Adolescent Health in the area of Physical Education at FCM-UNICAMP. Her academic and scientific work focuses on Sport Psychology, Physical Exercise, and Physical Activity, with an emphasis on Neurosciences and psychological aspects. Develops research and interventions in the fields of mental health, psychological assessment, motivation, psychological and social skills, cognitive training, quality of life, stress, depression, anxiety, and emotions, always articulating these dimensions with health conditions and the promotion of mental health and well-being.
