Patricia Severino

Graduated in Pharmacy from the Methodist University of Piracicaba (Unimep), with a Masters and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Campinas (Unicamp). She is currently the Pro-Rector for Graduate Studies and Research at Tiradentes University (UNIT), where she also serves as a professor, researcher, and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology. She leads the Laboratory of Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine (LNMed), affiliated with the Institute of Technology and Research (ITP). From 2019 to 2020, she actively contributed to UNIT's internationalization efforts through her work at the Tiradentes Institute (TI-UMass) and as a visiting professor at Brigham and Womens Hospital/Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. In 2022, she completed an MBA in Business Management at the University of São Paulo (USP) and founded the startup 3D Pharma, focused on innovation in veterinary drug development. She maintains bilateral research collaborations with prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, University of Ireland, the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Czech Republic, University of Granada, and the company Aura Química. She has extensive experience in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biomaterials, cosmetics, entrepreneurship, and innovation. She is a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow Level 1B, and a member of the National Institute of Science and Technology for the Brazilian Health Industrial Complex 4.0 (INCT TEC.CIS 4.0). She was recognized in the 3rd edition of the 25 Women in Science Latin America initiative by 3M, and has received the Pharmaceutical Merit Medal, the highest honor awarded by the Federal Pharmacy Council. Additionally, she was awarded the "Professor Antônio Tavares de Bragança" Medal for Incentive to Science and Technology, in recognition of her contributions to scientific and technological development in the state of Sergipe, during the centennial celebrations of the State Institute of Technology and Research (ITPS).
