Carolina Bastos Pereira Ligiero

Graduated in Chemistry and Master in Natural Sciences at Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF). Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), focusing on the synthesis of aromatic heterocyclic compounds. Completed a postdoctoral at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) (2018-2019) on the synthesis of arsenic(III) organic compounds of interest in the Petroleum sector (CENPES). Conducted a postdoctoral fellowship at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) (2020-2021) on the development of nanobiosensors for Covid-19, and since 2023, has been working on the development of nanobiosensors for the detection of arboviruses with a FAPERJ (PD10) grant. Her research lies at the interface between organic/inorganic synthesis and materials science. She also has expertise in X-ray crystallography. She is a member of the Young Researchers Committee of the Brazilian Chemical Society (JP-SBQ). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
