Master in Mechanical Engineering (EPUSP, 1989). Bachelor of Physics (IFUSP, 1989). Civil Engineer (EEM, 1984). Full Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC, 2024). Full Member of the São Paulo State Academy of Sciences (ACESP, 2017). CNPq PQ Research Productivity Grant Level 1A. Consultant in Fluid Mechanics, Hydrodynamics, Aerodynamics, Flow-Induced Vibration, Bioengineering and Aero-acoustics. He is currently a Full Professor (MS6) at the Mechanical Engineering Department, EPUSP. He was a Research Associate in the Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College (1995, United Kingdom).At EPUSP, he develops activities in the research lines of numerical methods applied to fluid dynamics and experiments in fluids. Specialist in aerodynamics and hydrodynamics of bluff bodies, vortex shedding, flow-induced vibration, vortex-induced noise and computational fluid dynamics.Scientific and Executive Director of the Research Center for Greenhouse Gas Innovation RCGI (FAPESP-SHELL). He was the creator of the Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (CFD Lab) and the Experimental Fluid-Dynamics and Anemometry Laboratory. Member of the Fluid and Dynamics Research Group (NDF).He has more than 160 articles published in International Journals, such as Book Chapters and International and National Conference Proceedings.Coordinates or coordinated scientific and technological research and development projects sponsored by Petrobras, Shell, Embraer, Fapesp, Finep / CTPetro, CNPq / CTPetro, Voith-Siemens, CTG, British Petroleum (BP), Oxiteno, BG Group, Eneva, Repsol, Petronas among others. BBVIV5 5th Conference Organizer (Chairman) on Bluff Body Wakes and Vortex-induced Vibration-2007. Chairman of the IUTAM-ABCM Symposium on Laminar Turbulent Transition-2014. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of BBVIV. He is a consultant for Fapesp, CNPq, Capes and Finep research fund agencies. Consultant to the Capes Triennial (2007/08/09 and 11/11/2010) and Quadrennial (20013/14/15/16) evaluation committees for Engineering III. Member of the Advisory Committee (CA) of CNPq EM Mechanical, Naval and Aerospace Engineering (mandate from 01/07/2019 to 06/30/2022).
