Graduated in Biological Sciences - Medical Modality from the University of São Paulo (1974), Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of São Paulo (1986) and Post Doctorate from the School of Fisheries at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA. She is currently associate professor at the São Paulo State University UNESP. She was director of the Aquaculture Center of UNESP (3 terms), president of the Brazilian Society of Aquaculture and Aquatic Biology-AQUABIO (2 terms), member and coordinator of the Advisory Committee on Aquaculture and Fishery Resources (CA-AQ). Tutor of the Tutorial Education Program / PET Veterinary Medicine at FCAV/UNESP. She has experience in the area of Aquaculture, focusing on Fish Farming, with approach on Hormones and energy metabolism, feed restriction, stress, immunity, reproduction, development behavior and compensatory growth. Species of interest: pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus), matrinxã (Brycon amazonicus), piracanjuba (Brycon orbignyanus), painted (Pseudoplatystoma corruscans), yellow-tailed lambari (Astyanax altiparanae).
