Dr. Mathias is an associate Professor at the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo and Director of the Echocardiography Unit of the Heart Institute (InCor) at the Clinic Hospital of the University of São Paulo, School of Medicine since 2005 and was approved in public tender for a professor of cardiology at the Department of Cardiopneumology of the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo in 2008. He is a board-certified Cardiologist and Echocardiographer by the Brazilian Society of Cardiology since 1993. His international degree includes 5 important titles, the Fellow of The American Heart Association, Fellow of The American College of Cardiology, Fellow of The European Society of Cardiology, Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography and Emeritus Fellow of International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound.He gave more than 160 conferences at major international congresses such as the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, European Society of Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography and World Congress of Echocardiography. He is a member of the editorial board of the following journals: Journal of The American College of Cardiology, Journal of the American College of Cardiology CV Imaging, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Cardiac Failure, Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, Brazilian Archives of Cardiology , Echocardiography Journal of Cardiovascular Ultrasound, International Journal of Cardiology. Received 43 awards or honors in Brazil and abroad. He obtained financial resources through research projects carried out at the InCor echocardiography unit financed by FAPESP (10 projects, 3 of them thematic) by donation from private companies that totaled approximately US$ 2,000,000.00.He has published 13 books and hundreds of book chapters on various topics in the field of cardiology, has supervised 20 doctoral theses, 3 post-doctoral theses as well as taught more than 200 doctors on a long-term fellowship. He published 281 articles in international journals and was cited 3216 times indexed journals international database. His H Factor is 28 (Web of Science - ISI). Pioneer: Prof. Mathias was a pioneer in Brazil introducing and teaching stress echocardiography, publishing articles, teaching the technique to hundreds of doctors, as well as conducting the first exam in the Brazilian territory. He was the first in the World to perform and publish the results of a randomized sonothrombolysis treatment in Acute Myocardial Infarction patients (J. Am. Coll. Cardiol. 73; 2832-2842, 2019).
