Full Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), with full dedication to teaching, research, and outreach. Dr. Li earned his medical degree from the Federal University of Paraná in 1989 and received his PhD from McGill University in 2000 with the thesis "Static and dynamic properties of epileptogenic lesions", ranked among the top 10 and included in the Deans Honor List. He obtained his livre-docência (habilitation) from the School of Medical Sciences at UNICAMP in 2005.He has specialized training in neurology, neurophysiology, and neuroimaging from world-class institutions including the Instituto de Neurologia y Neurocirugía in Havana (1992), the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery Queen Square, London (19931995), and the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, Canada (19952000). He is part of the Epilepsy Surgery Program and the Neuroimaging Laboratory at UNICAMP.Dr. Li has published over 200 scientific articles in national and international journals in the areas of epilepsy, stroke, neuroimaging, neuroscience, and healthcare management. He is the founding president and a volunteer at ASPE (Assistance for the Health of Epilepsy Patients www.aspebrasil.org), a non-governmental organization responsible for the WHO Demonstration Project in Brazil as part of the Global Campaign Against Epilepsy. In 2013, he was named Ambassador for Epilepsy by the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) and the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE). In 2006, he developed and implemented the Stroke Patient Care Program at UNICAMP and coordinated a regional alliance for stroke prevention and care in Campinas.He had served as Dissemination Coordinator for the CInAPCe (Interinstitutional Cooperation for Brain Research Support) and BRAINN (Brazilian Institute of Neuroscience and Neurotechnology) programs, both supported by FAPESP.In the field of management, Dr. Li holds a specialization in Hospital Management from UNICAMP, a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUC-Campinas), and is UNICAMPs coordinator in the Educational Network Lean Advancement Initiative (MIT). He leads the UNICAMP Research Group on Innovation and Healthcare Management.Beyond academia, he is the Innovation Coordinator at the Research, Development and Innovation Center of Ibrachina Ibrawork at the UNICAMP Technology Park and serves as Vice President of Programs and Projects at the Campinas Forum for Innovation and Sustainability (FISC), a coalition of over 40 institutions in the region, where he explores new frontiers for the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, integrating science with sustainable business models and the development of public policies.
