Master's (2003) and doctorate (2006) at Pharmacology from Ribeirao Preto Medical School - University of Sao Paulo under the supervision of Prof. Sérgio H. Ferreira. Post-Doc (2008) at Pharmacology from from Ribeirao Preto Medical School - University of Sao Paulo under the supervision of Prof. Fernando Q. Cunha. In 2008 started a tenure position, and is Associate Professor level A at the Department of Pathology at Londrina State University. Supervises master degree, PhD and post-docs in the Post-graduation programs in Experimental Pathology (Biological Sciences Centre) and Health Sciences (Health Sciences Centre) at Londrina State University. Both programs are recommended by CAPES. Waldiceu has developed administrative activities at Londrina State University including Member of Undergraduate Scientific Program, Research Chamber, Teach Research and Extension Council, University Council, coordinated the Institutional Applications to FINEP requesting buildings and high end equipments, and was the President of the Local Animal Welfare Council (2011-2015). In addition to teaching and supervision activities, he is Vice-coordinator of Biosafety Chamber, Vice-coordinator of the Post-Graduation Program in Health Sciences, and Director of the Animal House at Londrina State University. Outside Londrina State University, he is Member of the Biological Sciences Council of Fundação Araucária (Parana State Foundation, Brazil), referee of 33 international journals, Ad Hoc referee for CNPq/Brazil, CAPES/Brazil, FAPESC (Santa Catarina State Foundation)/Brazil, FAPERGS (Rio Grande do Sul State Foundation), Fundação Araucária and WELLCOME TRUST - UK. He has been granted awards such as CAPES Honor for the top three thesis in Biological Sciences 2007 in Brazil, Honor in the JRV Prize from Brazilian Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Theraputics in 2010 and 2013. Has experience in Pharmacology, focusing on Pharmacology of Pain and Inflammation, acting on the following subjects: nociception, hyperalgesia, mechanism of action of anti-inflammatory drugs (flavonoids, sesquiterpene lactones, diterpenes), cytokines, oxidative stress, endothelin and prostanoids.
