Ana Cristina Fricke Matte, full professor at UFMG, completed a doctorate in Semiotics and General Linguistics from the University of São Paulo in 2002 and undertaken a post-doctorate study at the same institution during 2019. Her under graduation at Popular Music from State University of Campinas UNICAMP date on 1993, an institution at which she also realized a post-doctorate study in Linguistics in 2004. She is a member of the Free Software Association (ASL.org) and the Brazilian Open Science Group. Currently she is a professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. She leads the Texto Livre research group: Semiotics and Technology, registered in the CNPQ Group Directory. Works in the area of Applied Linguistics, with emphasis on Semiotics, in the interdisciplinary area of Language and Technology, a line of research of the postgraduate program in linguistic studies (poslin/fale/ufmg). She is the mentor and a permanent member of the Organizing Committee of the National Congress University OER and Free Software UEADSL , a dynamic REA for integrating the face-to-face classroom, for all levels of regular education, with the community and culture academic) and deputy director of the scientific review Texto Livre: language and technology. As institutor of the semiotic analysis category tree, works in the area of applied linguistics in the fields of semiotics, distance education, online communication, documentation in free software, computational linguistics and digital literacy. The following terms characterize their scientific, technological and artistic-cultural production very frequently: semiotics, free educational technologies, language, open educational resources (OER), free culture and free software.
