He is a psychoanalyst and professor at the University of São Paulo. He has a degree in Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo and a master's in Clinical Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. He completed a doctorate at the Institute of Psychology at the University of São Paulo (2003) and in 2005 the publication of his doctorate, in the form of a book, entitled Violence in the Heart of the City: A Psychoanalytic Study, was awarded the Jabuti Award. He is coordinator of the Human Rights, Democracy, Politics and Memory Research Group at the Institute for Advanced Studies at USP. He is a research member of the Unit Research on Dreams, Memory and Imagination Studies (Poland), the Clinical Territories of Memory (TeCMe-Argentina) and an associate member of the Memory Studies Association (Denmark / Netherlands, Spain) and the Regional Group Memory Studies Association Latin. He is also a researcher at the Working Group of ANPEPP Psychoanalysis, Politics and Culture and the Laboratory of Psychoanalysis, Art and Politics (UFRGS). He is also a professor at the Humanities, Rights and New Legitimacy Graduate Program (FFLCH / USP). He is a founder and organizer of the platform Psychoanalysts for Democracy founded in 2016. In 2015 he worked as a Visiting Professor at the University of Gdansk (Poland) in the context of studies and research on political and social memory. He has Post-doctorate at the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP) in partnership with the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) between 2004-2005 He served as a member of the Independent Interdisciplinary Group to Combat Torture and Institutional Violence of the Special Secretariat for Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic (SEDH) between 2009-2013 and was a member of the National Committee for the Prevention and Combat of Torture and Institutional Violence in Brazil (CNPCT) between 2012-2013. He was also a member of the UNESCO Chair in Education for Peace, Human Rights, Democracy and Tolerance at the Institute for Advanced Studies at USP (IEA) between 2013-2015. He was a member of the Deliberative Council of the Research Support Center on intolerances, diversities and conflicts (Diversitas / USP) between 2010-2016. He has experience in the field of Psychoanalysis working mainly on the following themes: psychoanalysis, human rights, psychoanalytic metapsychology, contemporary political and social theory, urban and institutional violence, social, political and cultural memory.
