Giovana Faviano holds a B.A. and a M.A. in History from the University of Sao Paulo. Her research interests include archives, epistolography, autobiography, intellectual history, Paulista modernism and the institutionalization of private and personal records. She worked both as an internal and associate researcher at the Archive of The Institute of Brazilian Studies from The University of Sao Paulo, from 2010 to 2012, organizing thoroughly the letters, photographs and other documents of the Brazilian intellectual Caio Prado Jr. Between 2012-2014, she continued in the same institution as a researcher organizing the immense set of letters from the Paulista composer and Mario de Andrade?s pupil, Camargo Guarnieri. She was also a documentalist in The Pinacoteca do Estado de Sao Paulo?s institutional archive (2015). In 2017 she returned to the letters of Camargo Guarnieri at The Institute of Brazilian Studies to write and critically think about the process of physical organization of these records in the past few years.
