Ana Maria de Paula

Graduated in Physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais -UFMG (1985), master's degree in physics (optics) from UFMG (1987), DPhil degree from the University of Oxford, UK (1991) in ultrafast processes in semiconductors and postdoctoral fellow at UFMG (1991-1993). She was an associate researcher at Unicamp 1993 to 1997 and associate professor at the University São Francisco-SP from 1998 to 2003 where she implemented the optical nano-spectroscopy laboratory with FAPESP grant in the line :Young Researchers in Emerging Centers. She worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton-UK, from May 2003 to September 2006 being responsible for implementing the experimental part for the development of new sources of coherent x-ray laser. She has experience in optical spectroscopy and femtosecond non-linear processes for generating coherent X-ray from high harmonics of pulsed laser, and in multi-photon microscopy with applications in biophotonics and nanomaterials. Since September 2006 works at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, currently in the position of full professor (from 2022). She implemented and coordinates the multidisciplinary laboratory on femtosecond time resolved spectroscopy resolved in time and nonlinear optical microscopy images by second and third harmonic generation and fluorescence by two-photon absorption and hyperspectral imaging of nanomaterials and biological materials with technological applications.
