graduated at Veterinary Medicine at the University of São Paulo (1994) and completed her Ph.D. in Biochemistry/Immunology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1998) with a period as visiting student at the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Dundee (Scotland, 1997-1998). Has experience in Immunology, focusing on Celular Immunology. She is currently an Associate Professor of Immunology at the University of São Paulo (2001). She was an associate scientist at Howard Hughes Medical Institutes/Yale University (EUA), and a post-doctoral fellow at the Marine Biological Laboratory (USA), the National Institutes of Health (USA), and the Universität Würzburg (Germany). She was a visiting professor of Immunology at the University of Uppsala (Sweden, 2009). She organised the Marine Biological Laboratory (USA), Institute of Biomedical Sciences, and FAPESP Joint Courses (2012). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
