He holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1998), a master's degree (2001), and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the same institution, with a research period at the University of York (England). He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Aberystwyth University (Wales). Currently, he is a researcher at the Gonçalo Moniz Institute (FIOCRUZ-BA), a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Human Pathology (PGPAT), and a collaborator in the Graduate Program in Biotechnology in Health and Investigative Medicine (PGBSMI).His research focuses on Molecular Biology, particularly on understanding the role of molecules in the pathogen-host interface and assessing their potential as vaccines, therapeutic targets, or diagnostic tools.
