He holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1998), a master's degree (2001), and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the same institution, with a research period at the University of York (England). He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Aberystwyth University (Wales). Currently, he is a researcher at the Gonçalo Moniz Institute (FIOCRUZ-BA), a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Human Pathology (PGPAT), and a collaborator in the Graduate Program in Biotechnology in Health and Investigative Medicine (PGBSMI).His research focuses on Molecular Biology, particularly on understanding the role of molecules in the pathogen-host interface and assessing their potential as vaccines, therapeutic targets, or diagnostic tools. Additionally, he studies the global immune response to infections and attenuated vaccines, utilizing animal models and systems biology approaches. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
