Graduated in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1992), Master in Social Anthropology from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (1995) and PhD in Social Anthropology from PPGAS-/Museu Nacional-UFRJ (2003). Post-doctorate in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh. He is currently a full professor at the Federal University of São Carlos, a CNPq level 2 researcher, co-leader of the Hybris research group and coordinator of axis 3 of the Metis - Thematic Project arts and semantics of creation and memory (FAPESP PROC. 07886-8). He has experience in Anthropology, with an emphasis on the Anthropology of Politics. His resarch areas are focusing mainly on the following subjects: politics, anthropology, violence, family and anthropological theory, environment, agroecology and memory. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
