Graduated in Biological Sciences (Bachelor's degree in Genetics and Microbiology) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Master's degree in Biological Sciences (Microbiology) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and a PhD in Biochemistry y Molecular Biology - University of Barcelona and the Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (2000) with a "sandwich" period at EMBL- the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (Heidelberg, Germany). Held a postdoctoral position at the René Rachou Research Center (FIOCRUZ, Brazil) and at the Pasteur Institute in Lille (France). Held a Young Researcher Grant from FAPESP, in the Department of Parasitology of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology (DMIP), Paulista School of Medicine (UNIFESP). Currently (2021- ) hold a position as Associate Editor of the "Parasite Immunology" section of Frontiers in Immunology journal. Member of the American Society for Microbiology.Main interests: the study of signaling pathways at molecular and cellular level in the host-pathogen relationship. Pathogens of current interest: Sars-CoV-2, Trypanosoma cruzi, DENV, Leishmania amazonensis, Candida albicans and non-albicans. Also acts in the areas of molecular biology, cell biology, protein-protein interaction, molecular homology modeling and bioinformatics. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
