Roselena Faez is a Full Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) - Araras campus, where she leads the Polymeric Materials and Biosorbents Research Group (MPB), certified by CNPq. She holds a degree in Chemistry from the São Paulo State University (UNESP-Araraquara) (1993) and a Ph.D. in Science from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) (1999), with a sandwich program at the German Institute of Rubber Technology (DIK) in Hannover, Germany, and postdoctoral training at the Materials Division of the Aerospace Technology Center (2001).She completed a sabbatical at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis), from 2016 to 2017. Her extensive experience in polymeric materials focuses on the synthesis, processing, and characterization of polymers for sustainable applications in agriculture and the environment. Her research integrates sustainability principles, emphasizing process optimization and alignment with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs 2, 5, 9, 12, and 13.She is a permanent advisor for the Graduate Programs in Agriculture and Environment at UFSCar-Araras and Materials Science and Engineering at USP-Pirassununga. She served as Director of the Materials Division of the Brazilian Chemical Society (SBQ) from 2014 to 2016 and is an active member of this society. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Polymer Association (ABPol), with a mandate until 2025.Currently, she coordinates the Chemistry Teaching Degree Program at UFSCar-Araras, contributing actively to the training of highly qualified professionals in the field.
