She has published creative writings, academic articles, researched and lectured in the field of education, curriculum, educational policy, inclusion, diversity, literature, race and gender, African Diaspora in Brazil, Latin America and Caribbean, (Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Cuba, Dominican Repiblic, Mexico), Benin, Ghana, Cabo Verde, Spain, Turkey and the United States. Ford Foundation Fellow and Riochi Sasakawa Funding fellow. She was an instructor in the Portuguese Program at the University of Texas at Austin (2013-2014) and Director of Portuguese Program at the Univeristy of Illinois at Urbana Champaign/U.S. (2015).
