Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1977), Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Botany) from the University of São Paulo (FAPESP/1983) and post-doctorate at the University of Liège (BID/CNPq/1991 and 1994). Since 1985, he has been a professor at the Department of Botany at the University's Institute of Biosciences (IBUSP). She has been awarded a CNPq Productivity Scholarship since 1990. He was approved in the public exams for free-docency (1997) and full (2006 and 2011) at the Department of Botany at IBUSP. Currently (since 2012), she is an Associate Professor at level 3 at IBUSP. He has been a member of the Board of the Department of Botany since 1989, and of the IBUSP Congregation since 2001. He has served as a member of different councils and commissions at USP: USP University Council (2019 to 2021), Graduate / Interunits Council (2016 to 2019), and the USP Graduate Resources and Standards Committee (vice coordinator 2016 to 2019). He has been an alternate professor at the Postgraduate Program in Botany, since 1984, and at the Interunit Postgraduate Program in Biotechnology / USP (PPIB USP / IPT / BUTANTAN), since 1992. She was president (2016-2019), alternate president (2010 to 2016; 2019-current) and IBUSP representative coordinator (since 2009) at PPIB / USP / IPT / BUTANTAN. She has been coordinator and responsible for the Cell Biology of Plants Laboratory (BIOCEL) of the Department of Botany at IBUSP, since 2002. She works and served as an ad-hoc consultant for different development agencies (FAPESP, CNPq, CAPES, FINEP, FAPEAM, MEC / INEP) and as a reviewer of scientific articles for national and international journals. She was editor of the area of Plant Physiology of Plants in the magazine Acta Botânica Brasilica (2007 to 2009). Tem experiência na área de Botânica / Fisiologia Vegetal / Biotecnologia, com ênfase em Biologia Celular e Fisiologia do Desenvolvimento Vegetal, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: fisiologia, bioquímica e sinalização do desenvolvimento (poliaminas e outros reguladores de crescimento, metabolismo do óxido nítrico, aminoácidos, proteômica comparada , expressão gênica), morfogênese (embriogênese e células embrionárias), biotecnologia e metabolismo secundário.
