Researcher at the Institute of Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Justus-Liebig-University Giessen (Germany), where I lead projects within the DRUID Consortium (Novel Drug Targets against Poverty-related and Neglected Tropical Infectious Diseases), focused on identifying new drugs for neglected tropical diseases. My work integrates molecular biology, reverse genetics, protein biochemistry, bioinformatics, and enzymatic/phenotypic assays.My academic and professional career is dedicated to cellular and molecular parasitology, with expertise in trypanosomatids and helminths, spanning from the functional characterization of molecular targets to drug discovery. During my postdoctoral training, I worked at the University of Nottingham (UK) and René Rachou Institute (Fiocruz Minas, Brazil), contributing to projects on therapeutic target validation and the development of kinase inhibitor screening assays for Schistosoma mansoni.
