Birthplace: Brazil

Murilo Daniel de Mello Innocentini graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) in 1991. He completed his masters degree (1993) and doctorate (1997) in Chemical Engineering at UFSCar, including a sandwich period at the University of Birmingham, England (1996). He conducted postdoctoral research (1998-2003) in the field of permeability assessment of refractory ceramic materials at DEMa/UFSCar.He is a professor in the undergraduate Chemical Engineering program and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Environmental Technology at the University of Ribeirão Preto (UNAERP). He is also a visiting professor at the University of Bath, England, holding the position of Global South Chair 2023 at the Centre for Regenerative Design Engineering for a Net Positive World (RENEW) (https://www.bath.ac.uk/research-centres/centre-for-regenerative-design-engineering-for-a-net-positive-world/). He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Environmental Education (CTEA) of the Pardo River Basin Committee (CBH-Pardo).His research areas include air quality, atmospheric pollution control, and fluid dynamic characterization of porous materials for environmental applications. He leads the research group on Sustainable Materials and Optimization of Environmental Processes at CNPq (http://dgp.cnpq.br/dgp/espelhogrupo/783919). He coordinates the ARES / SCHOOLAIR Brazil project, which monitors air quality in school environments (https://ares.eco.br), and the PERMELAB-UNAERP at the PNIPE Platform, focused on permeability assessment of ceramic and polymeric materials. He has published more than 158 articles in peer-reviewed journals and over 220 works in conference proceedings. He is the author of four book chapters and holds four patents in the fields of industrial effluent treatment and biodiesel production. He has provided more than 140 consulting and advisory services in chemical and materials engineering, focusing on the development and optimization of industrial processes and equipment for air pollution control (cyclones, bag filters, ceramic filters, scrubbers, and electrostatic precipitators), waste incineration and pyrolysis, and industrial ventilation. He also serves as a registered expert witness in legal disputes in the field of chemical engineering. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
