Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering (DQBIO) at the Federal University of São João Del-Rei, Alto Paraopeba Campus, Ouro Branco/MG. He holds a Bachelor's degree in "Chemistry" from the Beirut Arab University/Lebanon, a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, area of concentration: "Análisis de Procesos en la Industria Química" from the Universidad Central de Las Villas-UCLV/Cuba, a PhD in "Industrial Biotechnology" from the of São Paulo-USP/Brazil and Post-Doctorate by the Department of Biological Sciences of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He has held the positions of vice-head of the Department and Chief-Coordinator of the Post-Graduate Programme in Technologies for Sustainable Development (PPGTDS) at UFSJ. He has acted as a tutor at Empresa Júnior ATPJr of the bioprocesses course, He led a research group focused on the development of projects in the area of up-scaling and production of bioproducts from renewable agro-industrial residues through chemical and biological processes. He has several articles published in specialized journals, book chapters, complete papers and abstracts published in annals of scientific events. Has won several national and international awards and recognitions, including the ABEQ-BRASKEM National Graduate Award and the DOW-USP Sustainability Innovation Award. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
