Humberto Márcio Santos Milagre

Humberto Milagre earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Chemistry from UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais, 1998). He completed his Ph.D. (2005) and postdoctoral studies (2008) in Organic Chemistry at UNICAMP (University of Campinas). Between 2005 and 2007, he was a Collaborating Researcher in the Department of Biotechnological Processes at the School of Chemical Engineering, UNICAMP. In 2012, he was a Visiting Professor at the College of Science, Department of Chemistry, Louisiana State University.In 2009, he joined the Bioscience Institute at UNESP (São Paulo State University) and transferred to the Institute of Chemistry at UNESP in 2013, where he is currently an Associate Professor MS 5.3.Humberto Milagre's research interests are centered on biocatalysis applied to organic synthesis, with a strong emphasis on Green Chemistry and the use of enzymes. His work spans various catalytic methodologieshomogeneous, heterogeneous, chemoenzymatic, and enzymaticin organic synthesis. He also dedicates his efforts to biocatalysis in alternative reaction media, enzyme immobilization, and rotating bed reactors for catalyst compartmentalization, with a particular focus on the production of fine chemicals.
