Omar Abou El Seoud Graduated from Ain-Shams Univeristy in Cairo; PhD from the University of São Paulo; Postdoctoral research/teaching at Texas A-M University, and the University of Bayreuth, Germany, as a Humboldt research fellow. He is a full member of the Brazilian Academy of Science and the São Paulo State Academy of Science; holds the Presidential Award for Achievement in Science and Technology. He has oriented 34 Theses, and publishes 202 papers in international Journals. His research interests include synthesis/properties/applications of surfactants, including surface active ionic liquids; green chemistry including the synthesis, properties and applications of ionic liquids; derivatization of biopolymers.
