He has a degree in Agronomy from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1987), a master's degree (1990) and a doctorate (1996) in Agronomy (Energy in Agriculture) from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, and a habilitation in Soil Fertility from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2015). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, UNESP, Botucatu Campus.
