Rubens Barbosa de Camargo

He holds a Bachelor's degree (Licenciatura) in Physics from the University of São Paulo (USP) (1981), Master's degree in Education from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) (1989) and Doctorate in Education from the University of São Paulo (USP) 1997). He was a professor of basic education of public and private network in São Paulo (1978 to 1992). He served in the administration of the Municipal Secretary of Education (SME) of the City of São Paulo from 1989 to 1992. Was Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of the Department of Education (DEd) of the Humanities and Education Center (CECH) at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) (1993-1998). Since 1998 was PhD of the Department of School Administration and Economics of Education (EDA) of the Faculty of Education at the University of São Paulo (Feusp). Obtained the title of Free Teacher of the EDA of FEUSP in 2018 (Assistent Professor I). Have a In the higher education has taught different disciplines and undergraduate, graduate and extension, as well as oriented doctorates, master's degrees, monographs, completion of courses and research projects. Participated and participates in various permanent and temporary committees in UFSCar, in Feusp and in the USP. Is former Chairman of the Commission of Graduation in Feusp (2008 to 2010) and is head of the EDA/Feusp (2016 and 2018). Has experience in the area of education, with emphasis on educational policy, working mainly on the following themes: educational policy, funding of education, democratic management, public funding of education and educational policy analysis. Was Advisor to the City Council of Education (CME) of São Paulo (2001 to 2008) and Advisor to the Board of Monitoring and Social Control of Fundef and Fundeb (CACS) (2001) of São Carlos and São Paulo City (2004-2008).
