Instituto de Pesquisas e Tecnologia da Informação (IPTI) (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal) Birthplace: Brazil
Dr. Saulo Faria Almeida Barretto is a Associate Researcher and Co-Founder of IPTI, where he is responsible for the institutional relationships and new business. Graduated in Civil Engineering by the Federal University of Sergipe, he obtained a master's degree and Ph.D. in Structures at the University of São Paulo, including periods at the Technische Universität Braunschweig (Germany) and Columbia University (United States). The research and development topics that Dr. Saulo Barretto has been working on recently refer to the construction of social technologies focused on basic education and entrepreneurial education, including challenges in public health that com compromise human development. For this, both the IPTI and the researcher themselves have moved to Santa Luzia do Itanhy, one of the poorest municipalities in Brazil, so that together with the community they can build social technologies that solve local social problems and then can be reapplied in other communities in Brazil (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
