David Dequech holds a PhD degree in economics from the University of Cambridge. He is currently a full professor of economics at the University of Campinas (Unicamp). He has previously been a visiting scholar at Duke University, Stanford University, the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies, and Université Paris Nanterre, associate editor of the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, the Review of Social Economy, and Economia (ANPEC), and a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Evolutionary Economics and the editorial board of the Journal of Economic Issues (twice) and Estudos Econômicos. He currently is on the editorial board of the Forum for Social Economics. He does research and graduate teaching on economic and institutional theory, focusing on the following issues: (1) the relations between institutions and the behavior and thought of economic agents; and (2) the importance and ubiquity of institutions in economic life. He has also worked on other set of issues that partly overlap the previous ones: (3) the theory of economic behavior under uncertainty, (4) the distinction between neoclassical, mainstream, orthodox, and heterodox economics, and (5) the history of economic thought, especially regarding Keynes. In consonance with these interests, he has been the leader of the research group on Economics and Institutions, accredited by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq, Brazil). In addition, for a period of 6 years (2012-2018), he was one of the two coordinators of Economics and Administration at the Sao Paulo State Research Foundation (FAPESP). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
