Prof. Dourado graduated in Physiotherapy from the Londrina State University (2000) and in Computer Engineering from the Virtual São Paulo State University (UNIVESP). At the Botucatu School of Medicine of the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), he completed a residency in general physiotherapy (2003), specializing in Interaction among Nutrition, Physical Exercise, and Medicine in Health Promotion (2003) and master's (2005) and doctorate (2006) in Pathophysiology in Internal Medicine. He is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), Campus Baixada Santista, coordinator of the specialization course in Clinical Exercise Physiology. He is the author of the book Physical Exercise Applied to Pulmonary Rehabilitation. In 2013, he was awarded a research funding in the particular modality "Young Investigators Award in Emerging Centers of São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). In 2016 he was selected as a Scholar in the postdoctoral training program "Bernard Lown Scholars in Cardiovascular Health Program "from Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. In 2017, he started as Principal Researcher in Brazil, the PAUL (Playful Active Urban Living) project in partnership with Amsterdam University, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Utrecht University, and UFSCar. In the PAUL project, he co-developed a smartphone application to increase physical activity in adults. In 2019 he obtained the Brazilian "Livre-Docente" title in Human Movement Sciences, sub-area of Clinical Exercise Physiology by the Department of Human Movement Sciences at UNIFESP. He has experience in human movement assessment and, since 2009, in Epidemiology and Public Health, and Technology. Research Lines: Human Movement Assessment with an emphasis on cardiorespiratory fitness; Epidemiology of physical activity and fitness; Development and use of technologies to assess and improve the level of activity and physical fitness of adults.
