Daniel Oliveira Cajueiro

He graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (1998) and completed his Master's (2000) and Doctorate (2002) in Electronic Engineering and Computing at the Aeronautics Institute of Technology.He is currently a professor in the Department of Economics at UNB, a founding member of the National Institute of Science and Technology (Complex Systems), and a member of the Machine Learning in Finance and Organizations Laboratory (LAMFO). From July 2020 to July 2023, he was a member of the CNPq-COSAE Advisory Committee.He has experience in the field of Economic Theory, Artificial Intelligence, Control and Optimization, Finance, Banking Microeconomics, and Complex Systems. He has published over 100 articles in journals in these areas and is the co-author of the book "An Introduction to Statistical Methods for Economics and Finance" published by UnB Press.He has been recognized for his relevance and productivity in the academic field. He has received more than 2500 citations according to the ISI Web of Science and more than 6000 citations according to Google Scholar. He is a CNPq Research Productivity Scholar - Level 1B, belonged to the list of the world's most influential scientists according to Stanford University for the years 2019 and 2020, and is ranked among the top productive economists according to the Research Papers in Economics (RePEc) ranking.He is the editor of the journals Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (Nature), Economic Analysis of Law Review, and the Journal of Risk and Financial Management. He is a regular reviewer for many others, including: Journal of Banking and Finance, Physical Review E, and Nature Communications.He has also contributed to society through public science lectures, interviews, and consulting for public and private companies.
